The association's achievement note

The stud page describes a 15.2-hand silver bay stallion who has sired more than 25 foals nationwide, names the bloodlines Sewell Sam, Maple's Squirrel, Yankee (Ragtime), and Broken Bone's Sam's Son, and says he passes temperament, color, and gait to his offspring. It prints him as a black-based silver bay, EE Aa Zz, and says he will only be bred to a select number of non-silver, pre-approved mares.

The Zz on that page is a printing error. Samson is tested EE Aa ZZ. ZZ means he does pass silver to every foal. The non-silver mare rule is how we keep those foals from being ZZ themselves. It is written into the breeding contract, and the eye side of the gene is on the research page.
