2026 International

The association turned 40 in 2026. The International that week was the 38th annual Grand Championship, held September 2 through 5 at the Covered Arena, Kentucky Horse Park, Lexington. Milton was at Longhorn Valley Farm (LHVF) in Kentucky for training and show experience while the show was on.

2026 International Grand Championships

The association's show page sets the week as the 38th annual International, Wednesday through Saturday, and invites anyone who wants to see the breed in one place. The five-judge panel was Tina Cantrell, Daniel Carmichael, Jennifer Lambert, Angela Lee, and Randy Taulbee. Rufino Figueroa was equipment and trail obstacle steward. Barr Studios was the photographer. The page also lists the vendors and the sponsors. Long Horn Valley Farm and Makayla Hill are on that sponsor list. That is the farm we know as Longhorn Valley Farm (LHVF), where Milton is in training.

Why the dates moved

Posted January 23, 2026. The International is usually the weekend after Labor Day. In 2026 it was the weekend before, because the Kentucky Horse Park calendar follows Memorial Day and the USEF calendar, not Labor Day. The park told the association this was the matching weekend to the one they have had, that nothing else was open, and that 2027 would line up with Labor Day again.

The show bill

The April 2026 class list runs from Wednesday morning conformation through Saturday night's Grand Championships. Saturday at 2:00 p.m. is the Grand Championships opening ceremonies. The night ends with the Show Pleasure Grand Championship and the Sam Tuttle Award. Youth, amateur, and amateur-owned-and-trained championships sit alongside the open classes.

2026 show program

The printed program for the week is online as a flipbook. It is the book that went with the show bill: exhibitors, the order of the week, and the names a visitor would have had in hand at the Covered Arena.

The 40th anniversary coloring book

Posted August 9, 2026. The publications committee released an official Rocky Mountain Horse coloring book for the association's 40th anniversary and the Month of the Rocky Mountain Horse. It is an educational keepsake, with drawings from member photographs, and it was for sale at the International at the Diamond A Tack booth and the RMHA office, as well as online from August 15 at $10 a copy. Wynter Nitz and Cheri Prill are thanked for the art and the layout.

Kentucky Horse Park listing

The park's own event page repeats the dates, September 2 through 5, 2026, all day at the Covered Arena, 4089 Iron Works Pike, Lexington.

Session videos

Pickup Country 104 WSKV posted the session streams. The class numbers match the 2026 show bill, and the streams went up in the weeks after September 2. We link them in show order.
