RVF's Layla
Layla has been rehomed. She stays on this site because she is the dam of DRS Everett Hemlock. She is a bay mare, 15.1 hands, foaled 16 April 2012. F. B. Thompson bred her in the Rio Valley program. She was certified 27 September 2023. The public registry still lists us as owner. Her inbreeding coefficient is 1.16%.
New blood that still knows Sam
On paper she is the outcross. Palomino and black sit close up in her dam line, through RVF's Liberty Lady, by Cherakee Gold. Her sire, RVF's Cokacola, is black, and his sire is Sam's Giovanni, a son of Broken Bone's Sam's Son. That is Samson's own sire. A Samson foal out of Layla is a linebreeding on Broken Bone's Sam's Son, not a blank-page outcross.
DRS Everett Hemlock shows the arithmetic. He was foaled 25 February 2025, silver bay, and his recorded inbreeding is 7.36%. That sits between Layla's 1.16% and Samson's 12.40%. Layla is bay and is not published as silver. We rehomed Everett with Ann Simonsen. Layla is with new owners too.
